The Monkey Fist Incident? Really? Oh wait, they're from Sandown. That explains it.
Just today, we got an e-mail from Renee over at The Portsmouth Gas Light Co. (hopefully she’s not the same person who told The Beer Drinker he couldn’t sit at the bar on the deck the other day. Not a smart move.) Anyway, she dropped a bit of info. about the bands playing over the weekend, so I figured I’d pass it along:
On Thursday (which is supposed to be 80-plus degrees), she said some band called The Monkey Fist Incident (really?) is playing, followed by the Jim Devlin Band on Friday and Tore Down House on Saturday, followed by Jim Devlin again (he’s either really good or he’s related to Renee) on Sunday. Apparently, on Saturday if you pay the cover for the band, you also get in free to the nightclub after 11 p.m., if you’re into that scene, which I haven’t been since Club Spin closed.
More importantly, Renee listed a number of interesting sounding beers that they serve. The Peak Organic Pomegranate Wheat Ale sounds like one The Beer Drinker would enjoy — especially if you mixed it with some hard cider. I think I might have to try the Brooklyn IPA (Brooklyn!!!) myself.
Peace,
Mr. X

As seasider for liffe, know the monkey fist for its nautical uses. Rope burns? You know you like it!
